Confirmation is a chance for young people to publicly say “yes” to following Jesus.  If you were baptized as a baby or young child, your parents made baptismal promises on your behalf.

They also promised to show you what it means to be a Christian, and to hold those baptismal promises for you until such time as you were ready to affirm your faith on your own.  That’s where we get the word confirmation: confirmation is when you confirm your baptismal promises as your own.

Confirmation is a time for exploring.  It’s a time for getting down to the basics: what do I believe?  What really matters in this life?  Where does God fit into all this?  What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus? And what are baptismal promises, anyway?

Confirmation is special.    It’s a sacrament, meaning it’s something sacred, not to be taken lightly.  At the confirmation service, you take on the baptismal covenant as your own promise to God, and we welcome you as an adult member of our faith community.

Our confirmation program is currently underway. Confirmation Sunday is April 23, 2017.
