Our Children’s Ministry Team

There is a committed team of Children’s Ministry teachers at Christ Church who are members of our parish community. All are screened and have completed police record checks. Michelle Alexander, a qualified public school teacher, oversees our Children’s Ministry; our ECE worker, Michelle Galego, runs our nursery program.

11:15 a.m. Sunday School and Nursery Program

The whole church family gathers for opening worship together, as we welcome one another, worship in song, and then call the children forward for an age-appropriate (and brief) message. Following the Children’s Talk, the children and toddlers head downstairs for Sunday school and nursery. We also have a quiet play area the back of the church where parents can participate in worship while their babies and young toddlers crawl about and play.

Parents & guardians of newcomer children are welcome to come settle their children and see what we’re about.

Babies, children and teens are always welcome to stay during the service.

Christmas Pageant

Each December the children of our parish re-enact the Christmas Story, complete with bathrobe shepherds, lopsided angel halos, a usually shy Mary and Joseph, a plastic baby Jesus, and more than a few rambunctious sheep. It’s chaotic and wonderful. And while the kids change from year to year, the story of the birth of Jesus, Saviour of the World, remains wondrous, mysterious, and the hope of the world.
